Veganism is a good thing but it needs to go beyond consumer veganism. It needs to be promoted by states in many ways."
Benjamin Selwyn
Professor of International Relations and International Development at the University of Sussex
Benjamin Selwyn is a professor of International Relations and International Development in the School of Global Studies at the University of Sussex since 2009.

In the past few years, he has started researching and writing about food, agriculture, and development. His focus has been on how a green new deal for agriculture could address the climate crisis. Furthermore, his research has triggered an interest in whether veganism can contribute to mitigating climate breakdown. He currently teaches about these issues on the course The Global Politics of Food at Sussex.
